Finally gave 2 of my patterns for block making. Since it will take a while to get them made i planned swatches,  keeping in mind some of the existing printing blocks in the factory.

DIPLOMA PROJECT

Concept- Body Camouflage

• WHAT is the situation?
• HOW does one deal with it? (adaptation technique)
• What does the person really want? (symbol or metaphorical expression)

Creating a narrative

Using the body as a medium of self expression, responding and interacting with the environment, surrounding space or situation, masked in the adaptation techniques adopted by the same, represented in a fantastical way, portraying what the body actually wants or desires in reality.

I started of by making a mind map of all that interests me- in textiles and otherwise.

  So i wrote down what i consider are my weaknesses along with the challenges that i would be interested to work with.

After listing out my interests and fears and the challenges that i would want to take up, i did a brief research on the same. Next, i tried to merge some of the topics together to come up with interesting themes or ideas.

I also started looking at the different textile techniques i would be interested in incorporating in my project. I will be adding to the list as and when i find interesting and potential techniques that i could work with.

I came up with 3 three potential themes that I was most excited to work with- revival, theatre and textiles and camouflage. The ideation process continued with the three topics with the help of research and finding examples of allready existing work and articles related to the above themes.
